The ICTeSSH 2020 conference plans to hold multiple two-hours pre-conference workshops and trainings. Workshops and trainings will take place on Monday, June 29, 2020, from 9am to 11am.

Pre–conference workshop

Pre–conference workshop should be small, focused meetings intended to provoke intellectual discussion, among a diverse range of participants, on a specific topic.

A workshop proposal should contain the following information:

  • Title of the workshop
  • Names and affiliations of the organizers
  • Short description of the workshop including workshop objectives and workshop format
  • Expected/maximal number of participants and if appropriate, depending on the workshop format, the expected number of submissions.
  • Prior history of this workshop, if any, including the number of submissions, number of accepted papers, and attendee count
  • Please provide details about your plans to advertise to SSH communities and how you intend to encourage participation at the workshop
  • If appropriate, the financial support the workshop intends to receive from a third-party. Additional costs (30 euros per attendee) for conference room and coffee break (after the workshop) have to be covered. It could be covered
    • by workshop organizer or a third-party, or
    • by attendees – in the conference fee, an additional fee for participants interested in the workshop can be defined.

Pre–conference training

Pre–conference training should be a two-hours class on the usage of some ICT tool, platform, service, or infrastructure. It is intended to improve the digital skills of participants.

A training proposal should contain the following information:

  • Title of the training
  • Names and affiliations of the organizers
  • Short description of the training including expected learning outcomes
  • Expected/maximal number of trainees and profile (necessary skills and knowledge) of trainees.
  • Please provide details about your plans to advertise to SSH communities and how you intend to encourage participation at the training
  • If appropriate, the financial support the training intends to receive from a third-party. Additional costs (30 euros per attendee) for conference room and coffee break (after the training) have to be covered. It could be covered
    • by the training organizer or a third-party, or
    • by trainees – in the conference fee, an additional fee for participants interested in the training can be defined.
  • If you have any specific networking requirements, please state that  in your proposal

Practical considerations

The workshop/training organizers should also take into account the following practical considerations:

  • We will have rooms in two sizes: for approximately 25-50 attendees

  • A/V (projector and screen), microphone and speakers will be provided in all rooms

  • There will be Wi-Fi coverage in all areas of the conference, including the workshop/training rooms 

  • If appropriate, depending on a workshop format, individual workshop organizers will be responsible for setting up the paper submission site and review process

How to submit a proposal

Please submit your workshop/training proposal in a single PDF file by sending it to the ICTeSSH 2020 organizer by email at ictessh@uns.ac.rs with subject “ICTeSSH 2020 Workshop/Training Proposal: XXX” (where XXX is the acronym of your proposed workshop/training) by January 15th, 2020. Proposal organizers will be notified of acceptance by January 31st, 2020.
